IN MEMORY OF ROSIE...
Rosie looked like a Quarter Horse but she was a Thoroughbred. She has been one of the greatest stars at Spring Down for over 10 years. She loved the youngest riders and was a great teacher for anyone who wanted to learn how to ride.
Recently, Rosie developed an acute problem with her hind end, where she could not walk well or even support her weight. She also could not bend her head and neck comfortably. It was thought that she might have EPM, which is a treatable condition, but her blood tests came back negative for that.
Two vets both thought that she might have a spinal tumor, or some other condition that was not really treatable. Rosie was in a great deal of discomfort, so it was decided that she needed to be made comfortable, and we let her go to join all of those other Angels up in heaven, who have given us here on earth so much…the privilege to learn about the wonderful world of the companionship of horses. We love you, Rosie! |
