Safety Clinic

NO HORSE NEEDED!

The purpose of this clinic is to learn how to prevent accidents when handling horses on the ground as well as mounted.

Next clinic: Saturday, November 10, 2007 from 12pm to 2pm
Fee: $65

Some of the topics to be covered are:

  • How a horse thinks and relates to its handler/rider
  • How to catch, lead, groom, tie and tack-up safely
  • How to longe a horse safely
  • How to teach a horse to stand quietly when mounted
  • How to take precaution against a spook, rear, buck or other violent behavior
  • How to stop a run away horse
  • How to punish a horse safely
  • What to do if your horse will not go forward
  • Safety equipment that can aid the rider
  • How to do an emergency dismount

This clinic should be a must for anyone who rides or handles a horse, as safety for you and your horse is the most important part of riding.

Open to the public - bring your friends.
